The Botnia-Atlantica programme is a cross-border cooperation programme intended to co-fund projects within the Botnia-Atlantica area. The programme is one of several European territorial Cooperation programmes, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. A similar cooperation was earlier carried out under the Interreg heading. The Kvarken-MittSkandia Interreg IIA and IIIA programmes were implemented 1995-1999 and 2000-2006 respectively. The Regional Council of Ostrobothnia is one of the eighteen regional councils in Finland. We are a joint municipal authority formed by the sixteen municipalities in the region of Ostrobothnia. The Regional Council of Ostrobothnia has two primary functions: regional development and spatial planning, which both form the basis for supporting regional interests. We also promote the interests of our member municipalities in various fields and are responsible for the cultural issues concerning the Finnish-speaking population.
