Novia University of Applied Sciences
Novia is a network university connecting campuses in seven
coastal towns in southwestern and western Finland, offering
multidisciplinary higher education with a practical orientation in
33 degree programmes leading to a Bachelor’s Degree. There are
currently 3500 students at Novia. The research and development work
is linked to the degree programmes.
Umeå University
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences
The Unit of Biomass Technology and Chemistry, Faculty of Forestry,
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Umeå, carries out
studies on solid biomaterials for technological (mainly
energy-related) uses. Important topics of research are chemical and
physical/mechanical characterization and quality control on incoming
raw materials, intermediates and commercial end-products.
Technology Centre Ketek LTD
KETEK is a technology centre based in Kokkola that specialices in
the development of companies' competence for all their business
activities. The area of expertise compares the development of
business operations, research and product development activies, as
well as analysis, testing, and counselling services. KETEK has
well-equipped laboratories for most types of chemical analysis
required by industry.
VAMK, University of Applied Sciences
Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK) provides high level
theoretical and practical oriented education in three languages,
both at undergraduate Bachelor level in youth and adult education as
well as professional Master´s degree level. The main areas of focus
are high technology, international business and tourism, and health
care and social services. VAMK combines the traditional
entrepreneurial spirit of the region with international awareness,
languages and culture in the education. Energy in all forms is
VAMK’s theme and ideology.
